PROJECT MANAGER PER L'ERITREA

21 / 01 / 2010 - AFRICA ‘70, Non Governmental Organization based in Monza, Italy, looks for:
1. Open position: Project Manager
2. Destination and duty station: Asmara, Eritrea
3. Contest: Technical Assistance for the National Heritage Programme.
Main results to be achieved:
- To complete, the rehabilitation of culturally and socio-economically important public buildings and urban spaces, enhancing both their heritage and functional values.
- To organise an 'Advanced Training Programme' relevant to Asmara's modernist built heritage and potential urban planning developments.
- To improve preservation of and access to Asmara's architectural heritage plans facilitating their use for heritage-related purposes such as research, needs assessment as well as for general sound urban management.
- To enhance capacities of local contractors and professionals to assess, design, undertake, quote and manage significant buildings restoration projects.
4. Skills required:
- Degree in architecture;
- Fluent English, both written and spoken;
- At least 5 years working experience in Developing Countries and demonstrated familiarity with urban rehabilitation plans.
5. Contract duration: 44 months
6. Expected salary: EC parameters
