COMMUNICATION MANAGER PER L'UNIONE EUROPEA

EurActiv is the leading EU policy media, publishing in 10 languages and 10 countries to over 500 000 monthly readers. In November 2009, Euractiv celebrated its 10th Anniversary with a prestigious Award Ceremony – View related interviews including Barroso, Buzek, Durant, Verhofstadt, Wallström, etc.
EurActiv has doubled its team size in recent years (to ca 60 people including franchise partners) and has three main sources of income: Sponsorship, Advertising and Public contracts. See Editorial Mission.
EurActiv is now seeking an experienced Communication Manager to develop, manage and deliver informative and engaging communications in support of high profile media activity, leveraging a strong brand and set of experts.
This is a good opportunity to get involved in some leading initiatives connecting many key stakeholders across the EurActiv Network (Map), including media, business leaders, and EU Institutions.
The successful candidate will face a variety of opportunities and challenges, and is likely to have held a similar position of trust and confidence working directly with the head of an organisation. As a focal point for communications advice and expertise, the Communications Manager fosters strong working relationships with the senior management and manages and protects the reputation of the media at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
�¡Design and deliver the communications strategy and plans for various initiatives;
�¡Drafting and promoting a series of external newsletters and press releases, cooperating directly with EurActiv’s Founder and Fondation EurActiv, maintaining press lists and contacts with key media people;
�¡Organising media partnerships; speaking opportunities and drafting opinion pieces and press releases;
�¡Identify key messages and draft consistent internal and external communications;
�¡Coordinating communication initiatives between Network partners, editorial, marketing and technical teams;
�¡Leading some of the workshops and annual conference of Fondation EurActiv.
Profile:
�¡Education or experience in running communication programmes in EU policy arena in Brussels;
�¡Minimum of five years experience of drafting internal and external communications various media used for communicating them and knowledge of which channels work best in different environments;
�¡Personal maturity, hard-working, efficient, well-organised, process-oriented, team-player, people management skills;
�¡Impeccable writing skills in English, plus strong French and preferably German;
�¡Frequent user of Internet services, interest in Internet culture, and ‘communicating Europe’;
�¡Presentation skills and good phone manner.
